Edge Imaging outlines digital transformation steps

Edge Imaging CEO James Aziz posted on LinkedIn an overview of how the Toronto-based school portrait lab adapted to new workflows and processes as part of COVID-19 and concerns about cybersecurity. The company has published a white paper for principals, administrators, and school board members about mitigating cybersecurity risks. Bad wedding videographers slapped with $110K fines 

Australia’s Imaging Insider reports an NSW Central Coast wedding videographer couple has been ordered to pay $110,000 in compensation, costs, and fines for failing to deliver 17 clients their wedding videos and photos, despite being paid a total of $32,730. Katie and Andrew Klerck, trading as Switch Multimedia, failed to deliver the finished product to their clients, with some couples not receiving any video edits while others were handed extremely poor quality video snippets.

Photo Finale releases new “photographing flowers” video

Photo Finale has added a new video about flower photography tips and tricks from photographer Erin Manning for its DIY Studio dealer subscribers. Subscribers had the video automatically added to their feed.

GoPro replaces namesake app with Quik app

GoPro launched a total refresh of its mobile app and renamed it Quik. Existing GoPro app users will see their app update upon install. For GoPro camera users, Quik features all of the capabilities of the previous GoPro app, plus new features. Existing users’ photos and videos will transfer from the old GoPro app to the new Quik app upon install and any cloud-based footage will remain accessible.

JPEGMini Pro 3.1 adds usability features

Image-size optimization software JPEGMini Pro was updated to version 3.1, adding drag-and-drop session initiation and other UI enhancements.

Kodak reports $1 billion in full-year 2020 revenue

Eastman Kodak Co. reported financial results for the full year 2020, including consolidated revenues of $1 billion and an increase in cash in the second half of the year.

United Imaging Group shows annual increase, despite pandemic

European buying group United Imaging Group announced, despite the global pandemic, 2020 sales increased 6% to €404.6 million euros. At €251.8 million, warehouse revenue is €29.7 million higher than the previous year’s figure (+13.4%).
